The following is a review done by GTD-totin' Xerxes Vardy, the erstwhile cousin of Mike Vardy. What Xerxes says here does not necessarily reflect the opinion of Mike Vardy, E.P.E., and, in fact, most likely doesn't. Xerxes also doesn't know that I, Mike Vardy, wrote this premable. So there. I had earlier reviewed the first in the trilogy of David Bohl's SlowDownFast book trilogy, and Your Personal Mission Statement follows up on where its predecessor left off. This book really lets you get to the heart of who you really are now and who you really want to be, based on your own goals and values. Again, through a series of exercises and personal soul-searching, Bohl gets the reader to dig deep and put down on paper what it is they really stand for.
While there have been others that have taken this approach, Bohl seems to be more earnest in his delivery. As I was going through each exercise and really looking at myself, I found that I wasn't being coached or guided, but more like I was "hanging out" with Bohl as I went along. Since I have now gone through two of the three books that make up the SlowDownFast tome, I'm looking forward to seeing how this ends up. I'll review the third book in the trilogy, entitled The Goal Book in the comng weeks, and Mike will have his own "alterna-views" on the trilogy as well. I'm really looking forward to those.
