One of the more important factors in grasping the Effing The Dog™ system is learning to let things go and not let the consequences rattle you. As cited above, Bill Buckner drew the ire of many hardball fans when he made this costly error. In fact, the taunting started when the guy who hit the ball mockingly pointed at him as he skipped along the base paths to victory.
It wasn't until years later, when former Saturday Night Live great Jimmy Fallon pitched the fabled Red Sox to a World Series Championship in the Hollywood blockbuster
"Pitching With A Fever" that Beantown fans witnessed glory for their beloved franchise. And as Fallon was raised in the air by his teammates while the great Lionel Barrymore looked on, it was apparent that the city had finally "let it go."
You don't have to wait that long. You could start letting things go
TODAY. It is one of the key components behind Effing The Dog™. Left the iron on?
Let it go. Been put on notice by your employer?
Let it go. Missing appointments left, right and enter because you just can't focus?
LET IT GO.A classic example of this is O.J. Simpson. He has been able to put so much behind him and forge ahead with little to no long term effects due to his behavior. I will say that he is not a prime example of the EffTD™ way, as he generally keeps raising the bar of his accomplishments, which ignores the "TD" portion, resulting in him only "Effing" up. But that's a story I'm not willing to go into any further. I mean,
I could write a whole book on this topic if I did .
So, learn to let things go. Let things slide. Let that "Ball Of Responsibility" roll right on by as you go through your daily routine. Remember, if you do it often enough, the right fielder will play shallow and pick up the ball for you.
Follow through on this, and you'll truly hit an EffTD™ touchdown!
