New Year's Revolution

Fists Have you ever considered how many people make - and then break - their New Year's Resolution(s)? And, yes...I put the "s" in parentheses, because know some people out there have the gall to map out more than one. My cousin, Xerxes Vardy, rattled off 5 of his to me in a postcard he sent my way, then asked me to keep it so I could "hold him to it with a fancy picture of two chimps with their fingers crossed on the reverse." I'm going to do him one better, and post them here on EffingTheDog.com, where you will never find chimp photographs of any sort. EVER.

Here we go:

1. No more shower caps in the shower. I will wash my hair going forward. (That sounded like tow to me, so I'm going on to...)

3. Mirrors are my friend, and I must remember that...no matter what father tells me.

4. I will start wearing my medic alert bracelet wherever I go in order to avoid anymore nasty incidents at Red Lobster.

5. Enough with the piercing.

I know for a fact that he has already broken one of those, based on photos he sent to me over the Internet that I simply cannot share with you on this website.

I stopped making resolutions years ago; it's simply a waste of valuable time and energy. You end up focussing on what you can't or shouldn't do, instead of what you can or should do. That lack of mindfulness is counter-counter-productive to what Effing The Dog™ is all about.

What I propose is a New Year's Revolution. Make one - and only one. That you will revolutionize your entire way of thinking and being. That is far easier than focussing on little details. Look at the big picture, then chuck it out the window and get a new big picture. Preferably widescreen with HD.

You're starting off in the right place. We're in the pre-twilight of the year 2008, and you've got a lot of time to kill. Kill it with me here at EffingTheDog.com and you will soon be able to harness the power of the very essence of pure personal productivity. The Essence of Absolutely Nothing - TEAN.
