One of the newest segments here at Effing The Dog makes its print debut today. The Effin' 7 are seven quick multiple-choice questions that I pose to various interviewees (or "Information Highwaymen/Webutantes" as I call them) for your reading pleasure.

For the first edition, I had the pleasure of corresponding with Nick Cernis of Put Things Off and the popular e-book Todoodlist (which you can buy here ). He is a British fellow, so you will notice some references along those lines. You may want to brush up on your knowledge of The Empire (not the Darth Vader one, but the less popular one) before continuing.

1. Podcasting or Broadcasting?

NC: Netcasting. Podcasting is fishing for iPods. Broadcasting is what dictators do.

2. Etch-A-Sketch or Spirograph?

NC: Etch-A-Sketch. If only more wrong could be undone by vigorous shaking.

3. Easter Island or Easter Bunny?

NC: Easter Bunny. Anything which brings free chocolate is worth its weight in monolithic stone carvings. Bonus points for being cute, fluffy and largely imaginary.

4. Apple's Mighty Mouse or the other Mighty Mouse?

NC: The real Mighty Mouse. Computer mice shouldn't have nipples on them.

5. Panama Canal or a root canal?

NC: The Panama Canal. Never trust anyone who grew up wanting to drill things for a living.

6. Going through the "Chunnel" or drinking through a funnel?

NC: The Chunnel, if only because the word itself is delightful. "Chunnel". Hehe.

7. Big Ben or a big pen?

NC: Big pen. Clocks should be banned -- even the beautiful ones.
