Top 10 EffTD Musicial Artists PDF Print
Saturday, 27 September 2008
MusicOne of the many tools that will keep you Effing The Dog is music.  Now, today I’m not going to go into why this is such an important tool - but I am going to present to you those that give us the Metabo of musical EffTD-ness.  These artists (both in solo and group - or “not solo” -  form) have truly embodied music as an art form; an expression of creative energy through song.  Not many musicians can do that.  Beyond that, they are an Eventualist’s best source of musical merriment…

Why I Keep Xerxes On A Short Leash PDF Print
Saturday, 27 September 2008
If you’ve been a frequent reader here at Effing The Dog, you’re aware that my cousin Xerxes is involved somewhat in the goings-on around the site.  Xerxes has always looked up to me as a mentor, and when I began putting together my teachings he was chomping at the bit to put his knowledge to good use.  It’s somewhat safe to say that his technical ability is what makes him so valuable to me - at least until there’s enough money in “The Internets Robot Fund” I established some time ago.  He also tends to look at both sides of the issue, which gives me an interesting counterpoint to work off of.  Generally, what he says is right I know is wrong, and I post accordingly.  Sure, he’s done a couple of entries, but I keep him on a pretty short leash - and for good reason.

EffTD: Blogger's Choice Award Nominee! PDF Print
Friday, 26 September 2008
ObnoxiousI feel honored to be in the presence of other esteemed nominees (Perez Hilton, The Drudge Report) in the Blogger's Choice Award category for Most Obnoxious Blogger.  While I respect the aforementioned "gentlemen", it would be sheer robbery for anyone other than yours truly to win such a prestigious award.  Surely, no one wants a repeat of this.

With my loyal following steadfastly adhering to the tenets of Eventualism, I applaud you all for merely lying in wait to vote for me.  Now that I've posted this article, you all are aware the time has arrived, as it eventually does.

So vote today - and pass it on so others can do the same.  You'll be doing them a favor by exposing them to EffTD and to me.  While I enjoy exposing myself as often as I can, it is far more rewarding when others do it for me.

This your chance to have a voice in the most important voting process of 2008.  Don't let yourself down.  I know I wouldn't.

(That means I voted for me; a ringing endorsement if ever there was one.)

UPDATE:  Since this article was posted, my votes went up 300%!  Keep it up, EffTDers!

The Winner Is... PDF Print
Friday, 26 September 2008

Before I announce the winner of the Talk Like A Pirate Day contest, I'll point out that sometimes Effing The Dog can lead to out-and-out procrastination (and not professional crastination, which I've touched on before and will go into more detail in a future post).  While Eventualism doesn't have an expiry date, contests do.  Perhaps it was the prize...

At any rate, congrats to Colin who left the sole comment and wins an Eventualism wristband and a $25 Starbucks Gift Card.  Way to go, me harty!

The Economy: Poor In Actuality, Rich In Eventuality PDF Print
Thursday, 25 September 2008
EconomyAs an 8th Day Eventualist and someone who has used money excessively over the course of my lfietime, I could have told everyone that the current economic crisis was inevitable.  The economoy is cyclical in nature; more cyclical than anything other than life and vehicles ending in “cycle.”  Society has been through tough financial times before, one time so heavily that it was dubbed as “great” and another that came close to being called “stupendous.”  So while everything looks bleak (or is at least painted in bleak tones) right now, the economy is only poor in some respects; as far as EffTD and Eventualism is concerned there is nothing more eventual right now than the economy.  Frankly, we’re richer than we think.

EffTD Tool of the Day: Punctuation PDF Print
Wednesday, 24 September 2008

Today's choice is brought to you by National Punctuation Day.

National Punctuation Day:  It's.................................awesome, isn't it?!

The written word is what drives much of the Internets - this blog is written in the written word, as an example.  And nothing can prolong and "eventualize" prose than punctuation.  It is a valuable tool for anyone who writes (even music), and an even more valuable tool to students who have to write when they really don't want to.
