Turns out that the video posts of my adventures at The Great Canadian Beer Festival didn't go off as planned....as I was surprised with a last minute vacation by my significant other. Sure, it took long enough for this to happen, but it was well worth the wait. Even Eventualists need to recharge their batteries, and there's no better way than to have varied and consistent vacation time.

Just got back from a EffTD long weekend (EffTD long weekends usually carry over to the following weekend), and I have a few updates to throw your way. 1. Brain Toniq was featured at the popular Uncrate website, and by using the coupon code MIKE, you can get a discount. Click the Brain Toniq banner to the right to experience EffTD Energy "sans soda." 2. My interview with Cali Lewis will be up shortly - Xerxes had some technical issues on our end that need to be fixed up before posting. I've also got some more special interviews coming up in the next few weeks, so stay tuned. In the meantime, I will be providing updaates from the best event summer has to offer: The Great Canadian Beer Festival! I'm volunteering there this weekend (part of my way of giving back to the community in an eventualistic fashion). I will have video footage and photos of my Friday stint as a volunteer (as well as my Saturday stint as simply an attendee) and will post throughout the weekend. Stay tuned for those...

One of the many things I keep hearing from the masses that keep up with me here is a quick way for people to start Effing The Dog right away. First off, let me stress that you can’t just jump in to the practice of Effing The Dog; it would be like performing the Polar Bear Swim in untested waters. Only the crazy and elderly people that need to prove that they’re not “elderly-like” would do this. Rational people would slowly dip their toe in to check it first, and then eventually get in. But, to give you some talking points to take away with you and get you going, I’ll give you some of my talking points written out in this article - therefore making them “writing points” instead. Just promise you’ll take this list of the Top 5 Ways to Start Effing The Dog Today and find a way to put some real Eventualism in there. Throw me a bone, okay?

While Xerxes is busy editing the Cali Lewis interview we conducted today - it will be up before week's end - it was suggested to me that I go into more of an introductory phase with this article. Many of you are (or are now) new to the site, and are wondering a few things, I’m sure: 1. What is Effing The Dog? 2. Is Mike Vardy married? Because if he isn’t, I’d not only be surprised; I’d be all over him.

In an amazing coup of micro-celebrity amazingness, I will be posting an interview I did today with Cali Lewis of GeekBrief.tv fame shortly. This interview will also be part of the next podcast, so stay tuned for that as well!

When you are actively pursuing Eventualism, it can be a very slippery slope. You'll come across all sorts of crtiicism. Your co-workers will be jealous of your "perceived" slacking and call you on it, some even going so far as to talk to your superiors. Your family (especially your significant other) will chastise you and tell you to get off your “perceived” lazy rear and get moving. Your friends will wonder where your “get up and go” went; whereas the “actual” slacker friends will begin to see you in a whole new, and reverent, light.

Due to a lack of recent limericks, until the end of September you'll get 2 every Sunday! You're welcome. There once was a man named Jerry
Who liked Microsoft oh so very; He got paid lots of cash To give Redmond some flash; Quite the act he’s going to have to carry…
